CK Immigrate to Work

Chatham-Kent has a history of welcoming immigrants, and was designated as Canada's first official Welcoming Community in 2016. We look forward to welcoming you to Chatham-Kent.

How to Immigrate

If you are interested in moving to Chatham-Kent as a new immigrant, find information on how to immigrate from the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada website (IRCC). IRCC will give you information on immigrating to Canada for work, as well as other options to move to Canada. There is also an Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) that works in partnership with IRCC to nominate foreign workers for economic immigration. OINP selects foreign workers for permanent residence who have the skills and experience that the Ontario economy needs. The Government of Canada makes the final decision to approve applications for permanent residence.

Once you arrive, there are settlement supports and community services available to help you and your family get connected and settle in. Chatham-Kent is also home to several cultural community associations, and has many options for recreation and leisure

Find more information about moving to CK and suggested steps after you arrive on the Immigrate to CK page.
